In 2018, FINCA Canada entered into a 5 year partnership with Global Affairs Canada to implement the Financial Inclusion Project, which will promote economic prosperity for low income women and men in Haiti and the DRC by providing them the means to grow their small businesses, increase their incomes, and save for the future. Working with FINCA Haiti and FINCA DRC, we will:
- Create access to financial services for 575,000 low-income individuals and entrepreneurs, notably 363,000 women, in Haiti and DRC;
- Increase the use of financial services by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in particular those led by women, through a network of 37 branches and 2,350 banking agents across Haiti and DRC;
- Provide agricultural financial services and technical assistance for business development, natural resource management, and climate change adaptation to 1,400 agricultural entrepreneurs, including 840 women, in Haiti; and
- Improve access to mobile savings and medical insurance for 460,110 and 19,950 low-income individuals, respectively, in the DRC.
