FINCA’s approach to poverty alleviation is rooted in making real changes in people’s lives. From our first pilot projects in Latin America over 30 years ago to our vast global network of microfinance institutions today, we stand by our core belief in delivering a sustainable approach that empowers people to pursue and achieve their dreams. We work knowing that our clients know best what can help them. FINCA has integrated research programs into our core business operations so that we can make innovations in our products and services—allowing us to put our clients’ needs at the centre of what we do.
Women’s Empowerment
More than half of the clients FINCA serves are women. With access to FINCA’s financial services, 74% of these women worldwide have become the primary breadwinners for their families. They put food on the table, enroll their children in school, and provide a safe home for their families.
Microfinance
FINCA’s microfinance initiatives currently serve more nearly 2 million clients in 20 countries around the world. We offer innovative financial services with strong client protection standards, through our network of microfinance institutions that span across 5 continents.
Social Enterprises
FINCA is now taking our innovations a step further, to deliver life-enhancing products to poor and underserved people around the globe. We’ve started with BrightLife, an initiative to distribute solar lanterns, clean cookstoves, and water filters to families in Uganda. We’re also exploring other needs and social goods related to sanitation and agriculture. Learn more about FINCA’s social enterprise initiative »
