a. Information You Provide
We do not require visitors to our site to register or provide information to view our site. FINCA does request personal information from site visitors who wish to contribute to FINCA or subscribe to our e-mail newsletter.
Donations: We request contact information from the visitor on our donation forms (for contributions, gifts of stock, planned giving, to make monthly gifts, etc.). These forms may request contact information (such as name, email, telephone number, and address) and payment information (such as credit card number and expiration date). The same information may be collected if you make a donation to FINCA other than through our site. This information is used for FINCA’s internal purposes, such as billing, sending receipts, and contacting donors. We do not share e-mail addresses or financial and credit card information with anyone other than service providers who are performing tasks on FINCA’s behalf.
Careers (employment), Volunteer and Internship Sections: FINCA requests contact information (such as name, email, and address), as well as personal information such as a resume and cover letter, from those who make inquiries, or visit the pages on our site, about our employment, volunteer and internship opportunities. This information is used by us for personnel purposes only and is not shared with outside organizations.
Newsletters and Inquiries: You may request to receive mailings or emails, or contact us to ask a question about FINCA. We will use the personal information you provide to respond to your inquiry or to process your request.
b. Automatic Collection
Cookies: A “cookie” is a small piece of data stored on your computer’s hard drive when you visit our site. FINCA uses cookies to analyze our site’s overall traffic patterns and improve our visitors’ online experience. We do not use cookies to store or collect any personal information. FINCA may, from time to time, share names and postal mailing addresses provided to us on a voluntary basis with other carefully selected nonprofit organizations whose missions FINCA believes would be of interest to FINCA supporters. Please allow 8-10 weeks for your request to be processed, as campaigns may already be underway.
E-mail Newsletter
We do request personal contact information from visitors who are interested in receiving our e-mail newsletter or other information electronically. Visitors must provide their names and e-mails in order to subscribe to e-mail newsletters. This information is used for communications purposes only and is not shared with outside organizations. FINCA may share your personal information with our service providers, solely for the purpose of performing tasks on FINCA’s behalf such as processing credit card payments, maintaining our website, or contacting donors. This site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that FINCA has no control over and is not responsible for the contents or privacy practices of other sites. FINCA may offer you the opportunity to engage with us through third-party social networking websites, plug-ins and applications. Through these platforms, you may allow us to access information associated with your social media account. We may use this information to confirm your identity and to personalize your experience on our site. Note that social media accounts are public and are not hosted on servers controlled by us. 6. Note to Parents
We are pleased when young people visit the site to learn more about our organization and our work to alleviate global poverty. FINCA does not knowingly solicit or retain personal information from children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly market to children under the age of 13.
7. Security
FINCA takes many precautions to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. Personal information is protected both online and off-line with appropriate organization, technological and physical safeguards. When our forms ask visitors to enter sensitive information (such as credit card account numbers), this information is encrypted. Security is also a top priority for our donations processing service provider Blackbaud Sphere which has implemented stringent security measures, detailed in the Blackbaud Sphere privacy policy, to protect the data of visitors to our site.
In addition, FINCA makes every good faith effort to protect visitor information off-line. All of our visitors’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personal information.
We, and our service providers, keep your personal information only as long as it is required and we destroy, delete or convert such information into an anonymous form when it is no longer required.
8. Notification of changes
FINCA reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy, and any of our policies and procedures concerning our practices for managing personal information, at any time and without prior notice subject to applicable law. If we have modified or amended this Privacy Policy, we will post the most current version on our site and note at the top of this Privacy Policy the date on which this Privacy Policy was last updated.
