Masuka Albertine
“I am a mother and entrepreneur living in a suburban community in the Congo farming crops to provide for my family. However, I couldn’t manage my income well. In 2018, I was lucky enough to attend free financial education training provided by FINCA.
Since I took this training, the budgeting concepts I learned have completely changed my life and the way to manage my income. The lessons I learned on how to manage my money have changed the way I think and have especially helped me build a savings culture.
Previously, I was struggling to cover my health care costs, but today with my savings, I have succeeded in getting a license to open a small health center that helps many community members in my neighbourhood. I have since also been able to buy more land and continue to expand my agricultural activities.
Based on what I have learned and how it has helped me, I started introducing other women in my community to help them receive the same benefits from this free FINCA training program in financial education.”
FINCA’s work to improve financial access is made possible through partnerships and donations by generous donors.
