Anne Rose Dorval
The impacts of COVID-19 are being felt worldwide. After overcoming the challenges of raising a child alone as a teenage mother, and later as a grandmother, Anne Rose Dorval was able to expand her jewelry business in Gonaives, Haiti thanks to FINCA.
Even though the business was already successful after starting in 2006, joining a local village bank in 2014 provided Anne Rose with loans that allowed her to expand her product line. When the village bank disbanded three years ago, Anne Rose qualified for a larger individual loan from FINCA of nearly $1000.
Due to the pandemic, Anne Rose was forced to shut down her business. All of her money was tied up in inventory and she attempted to regain whatever capital she could by selling her products at a discounted price. FINCA worked with Anne Rose to restructure her loan and taught her business planning techniques to reopen her business.
FINCA loans are made possible through partnerships and donations by generous donors.
