FINCA Canada Launches the #breadwinHER Podcast Series for International Women’s Day
In support of the 2023 International Women’s Day (IWD) theme #EmbraceEquity, FINCA Canada, in collaboration with Centennial College post-grad public relations students, has launched #breadwinHER, a social media campaign and a three-part podcast series highlighting the challenges faced by single income mothers.
Each podcast relays first-hand experiences from breadwinners in Guatemala and the DRC as well as FINCA experts who explain how they are helping women overcome the challenges of inflation and the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities.
Drew Boshell, Executive Director of FINCA Canada, had this to say:
International Women’s Day is an ideal time to highlight our support for women breadwinners and their challenging journey towards financial inclusion and stability. Although inflation has pushed millions into poverty and food insecurity, with the right financial information and support, women can #EmbraceEquity, overcome these tough times and build financial health and resilience for the future.
FINCA Canada shares a weekly post on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to raise awareness and support for this three-part #breadwinHER podcast series.
The podcasts are released over three weeks, on Wednesdays, on Spotify beginning Wednesday, February 22, with the final podcast airing on International Women’s Day, March 8.
FINCA Canada #breadwinHER podcast guests include:
- Drew Boshell, Executive Director, FINCA Canada
- Mirela Pekmezi, Chief Executive Officer, FINCA Dominican Republic of Congo
- Rodrigo Macalpin Martinez, Marketing Manager, FINCA Guatemala
This International Women’s Day, FINCA Canada invites everyone to #EmbraceEquity and embrace the #breadwinHER campaign to support women enduring financial hardships worldwide.
